All of your complaints and suggestions have not fallen on deaf ears. We at JUICE take in everything that you say and we agree.

We’re bringing back our love for music and what better way to pivot into our old ways than to invite our old friends, Capt’n Trips and The Kid onto our stage.

Back in 2016, we featured this rag-tag group of musicians and we haven’t gotten tired of their psychedelic new-age sound just yet. Growing and improving alongside us, Capt’n Trips and The Kid have only gotten cooler with age.

Taking inspiration from bands like Grateful Dead, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard and Tame Impala, music lovers will surely get a kick out of this local band’s own twist of the psychedelic-rock genre.

To welcome them again onto our platform, we’ve decided to kickstart a brand new video segment called JUICE HOMIES: Home Jams… You may use the hashtag #JHHJ if you’re feeling savvy.

Essentially, JUICE will be inviting our beloved homegrown talents to share their songs and their unique personalities with us through this segment that is shared across all of our social media platforms.

We’re giving you energetic live music amidst a somber pandemic as well as some cheeky games so you can get to know the people behind your favourite local records and tracks.

So, without further ado, let’s learn a little bit more about Captn’ Trips and The Kid…

Who are they?

Capt’n Trips and The Kid are:

  • Jes Ishmael – Vocals, Lead guitar
  • Yaqub Zulkifli – Bass guitar
  • Que Dean – Synthesizer
  • Uzayr Khalid – Synthesizer
  • Sean Totten – Rhythm guitar
  • Omar Aiman – Drums

What’s new with them?

The band has currently released a single from their latest hush-hush EP which is rumoured to drop sometime this year.

The single titled, ‘Jack Smack’ is a funky dance tune that takes full advantage of the band’s affinity for synths and psychedelic guitar riffs.

While their EP isn’t out yet, JUICE got an exclusive sneak peak since Capt’n Trips and The Kid have decided to grace our stage with the tracks ‘HMN Emotion’ and ‘Gaia Lovely Woman’, both from the soon-to-be-released record.

Where can I watch this?
