Rap label 0108 SLATAN marks its second collaborative project with the recent release of Kalau Begitu, Baiklah…, an album that takes listeners on an exhilarating journey through the wild ups and downs of their lives as artistes and humans.

The album features a whopping 19 artistes, including 12 singers and rappers, and seven composers—a diverse lineup that promises a fresh and dynamic listening experience.

Familiar names from the label’s roster, such as Gard, Quai, Offgrid, and Wuzgut, are joined by some exciting up-and-coming talents like cyndaquil, Dafreakinaz, henrii, Khodi, LastKhalif, and many others.

According to the album’s main composer, maatjet, the project marks a significant turning point for each artist involved in it.

He emphasised that both seasoned figures like Gard, Quai, and Offgrid, as well as the label’s latest addition, Akkimwaru, enthusiastically took on the challenge to deliver their best on the album.

Each artist brought forth their distinct interpretations of the main album themes through their creative expressions, all united under the same language.

“The collaborative energy in this creative space is truly amazing. I initially worried about blending these diverse styles and musical approaches into cohesive songs, but it turned out to be a surprisingly seamless process,” said maatjet.

A musical journey that discusses the twists and turns of life

Editor’s pick: ‘Mimpi Untuk Semalam‘, ‘Hidup Seniman Malam‘, and ‘Rindu Kau Dari Jauh‘.

The album is divided into three main segments, each spotlighting distinct phases of life—from the vibrant days of adolescence to the complexities of adulthood, and finally, the reflective moments of older age.

In the first phase of Kalau Begitu, Baiklah..., the music feels like an exhilarating burst of intensity. It mirrors an adrenaline rush, capturing the fervour, curiosity, and boundless energy of youth. The music serves as a reminder to listeners that patience is the secret sauce that adds flavour to life’s most extraordinary experiences.

As the album progresses into the phase of adulthood, the sound takes on a more relaxed and vibey musical groove.

The tunes in this segment mirror the universal pursuit of close connections and the profound relationships that solidify this stage of life.
