As a Malaysian, there are several things we’re all familiar with.

From Biskut Hap Seng, Milo, Luna colour pencils, the pak cik moto that sells childhood treats to the ever-growing panic in parliament, all of these make up the joyous foundation of our country.

Therefore, what better way to reminisce on all our past (and occasionally, present) pleasures than to see them immortalised in adorable miniature figurines?

Instagram user and sculptor Pui Wan Lim, or better known as @picoworm, has been preserving our Malaysian culture through her works of art. Despite the size, these figurines pack a massive punch.

Evident through the meticulous process involved to produce such immaculate looking pieces, even to an untrained eye, it’s clear the amount of time and effort it takes for @picoworm to finish each individual art piece.

As a way to celebrate this artist as well as feel that warm embrace of nostalgia, here are several of her most impressive works…

Doesn’t this take you back to primary school? Ah, the times when everyone scrambled to borrow from that one kid with the 100-piece set’s colour pencils because they forgot to bring their own for the colouring contest…

Remember when physical classes were a thing? I don’t, but this video is a sweet reminder of the angsty gossip I fed into when I was in high school.

Looks like the kind of shop you’d walk into in Penang or Melaka back in the olden days.

Do they still sell these in this format?

While we still hear the melodious kring-kring of the pak cik moto from time to time, it has become few and far between. I can’t remember the last time I stopped one of these uncles to ask for a Twisties or Super Ring. Seeing this in cute miniature form is nostalgia at its finest.

Can it still give me heartburn if it’s scaled to this size?
