If you grew up hearing “You’re not the boss of me now” blaring through your TV speakers after school, the return of Malcolm In The Middle might come as a complete surprise.
Two decades since the original sitcom’s last episode aired, the Wilkerson family is back in a new revival, titled Malcolm In The Middle: Life’s Still Unfair, which will be coming to Disney Plus Malaysia soon.
If the trailer is anything to go by, we can expect the same ludicrously dysfunctional family dynamics that made the original series so good in the first place.
Most of the faces in Life’s Still Unfair should be very familiar

The majority of the original cast will be reprising their roles, including Frankie Muniz as Malcolm, Bryan Cranston and Jane Kaczmarek as Hal and Lois, Christopher Masterson as Francis, and Justin Berfield as Reese.

One familiar face, however, won’t be returning. The original actor who played Dewey (the youngest brother), Erik Per Sullivan, stepped away from acting years ago and opted not to participate in the show’s revival. Fortunately, his character hasn’t disappeared. It’ll now be played by Caleb Ellsworth-Clark.

The show’s premise picks up 20 years after the original show ended. Malcolm is now living a relatively stable life, along with his girlfriend Tristan and daughter Leah. But that stability starts to fall apart when Hal and Lois demand that Malcolm attend their 40th wedding anniversary celebration.
You can expect to see the same brand of absurdity and relatable moments as the original sitcom. Everyone’s just 20 years older now with their own modern sets of problems.

Malcolm In The Middle: Life’s Still Unfair is slated for a global premiere on 10 April 2026 on Disney Plus.
