Groom Attends Wedding Reception Alone after Bride is Hospitalised for Pneumonia

A series of photos capturing a groom walking down the aisle alone at his wedding reception in Kedah recently went viral on TikTok.

According to OHBULAN!, the bride, Fatihah Zahra, uploaded the images and apologised to her husband for causing him to walk down the aisle and sit on the dais alone on their special day.

During the reception, the groom was also seen video-calling his wife, who was unfortunately bedridden in the hospital.

“Dear husband, I’m sorry you had to attend the wedding alone,” wrote the bride in the caption.

Fatihah explained in the comments section that she was admitted to the hospital a few days before their wedding reception due to pneumonia

The bride went on to say that her doctor advised her to stay at the hospital on the day of the ceremony because she still had to rely on an oxygen machine.

Despite feeling disappointed about being stuck in Kuala Lumpur, Fatihah added that they ultimately decided it was best to proceed with the reception as planned because they had already paid for the ceremony.

“Our wedding reception was in Kedah and I was all the way in KL. It was very last minute, so we couldn’t have postponed it,” she explained, adding that her husband also cried during the reception.

Netizens sympathised with the newlyweds and left supportive comments

“Please stay strong, sis. It’s okay, as long as you’re married and happy now. I hope you recover soon, and please continue to pray,” commented one user.

“What matters is that you’re both married now,” wrote another.

“Your husband looked so sad,” wrote one user, expressing sympathy.
