If you live or work in KL, then you’ll know how hard it is to get parking at certain times of the day (and night). Just when you think you’ve found one, you discover a tiny Perouda Kancil in the spot.

The search for a decent parking spot has almost become a sport of sorts, often forcing people to get to their destination much earlier than necessary. When you finally find it, you breath a sigh of relief because it’s truly hard work at times.

Sometimes, however, it’ll cost you.

One TikTok user found out the hard way that some bogus parking attendants, known as “ulat parking” (parking worms), punish drivers who don’t pay their exorbitant (and illegal) parking fees.

In a viral TikTok video, user @ballerina391 shows the side of her car all scratched up, claiming she had refused to pay a RM15 parking fee imposed on her by multiple parking worms near a Maybank branch in Bukit Bintang.

In the video, she claims in a caption that these parking attendants threatened to damage her car when she refused to pay them.

“They threatened that if I don’t pay the parking, see what happens to my car,” the caption reads.

Despite the threats, she stood her ground and walked away without paying a single cent. When she came back, however, the damage had already been done. Somebody (or perhaps a group of people) had scratched the side of her car.

Responding to a comment, @bellerina391 claims she had contacted a DBKL officer on the phone, who allegedly informed her that these parking attendants did not have a license to operate in the area.

In another video, @ballerina391 claims she made a report to DBKL, expressing hope that action would be taken against unscrupulous parking worms.
