Malaysian songstress, Siti Nurhaliza has always been in the hearts of Malaysians. Recently the artist released a brand new song and music video titled ‘Siapa Tak Mahu’ which garnered over two million views on YouTube.

Directed by Ghazi Maslan, the music video featured popular local actress Mira Flizah and a brand new fresh face to the industry, Hun Haqeem as the pair acted as couples arguing while browsing around a museum.

The music video centred around fresh, vibrant colours and the main attraction was definitely the amazing outfits that Siti Nurhaliza wore in it especially a particular white dress that was absolutely beautiful and exerted European royalty vibes.

The dress is created by none other than rising fashion designer Kel Wen, who is also the creative director of contemporary fashion brand, Behati.

The Behati fashion label has been behind many amazing outfits for artists and their most recent project before this was designing and creative directing Ernie Zakri’s music video for ‘Boneka’.

In an Instagram post by Kel Wen, he stated that this opportunity to create a dress for Siti Nurhaliza has always been in his bucket list.

“To be part of her remarkable career in her artistry, dressing a Malaysian icon, it feels truly unreal,” he said.

He also explained that he had input the dramatic leg of mutton sleeves that draped, with a shirting button opening at the front with oversized shirt collar and pleated pockets to make it chicer as the plan for the outfit was to be an inspired white victorian dress.

Another unbelievable fact about the dress was the frame of time it was made. According to the fashion designer, it was miraculously made in 41 hours, and the team had to confirm the design of the dress at 12am before starting to shoot at 5pm on Monday.

According to Kel Wen in Hijabsta, the fashion designer did not even have the time to do the fitting but despite the drawbacks, the result of the dress turned out to be magnificent.

“In this music video, Dato Siti looks slim due to the cutting of the large sleeves and skirts, this proves that wearing something that is too big does not necessarily make you look big, but gives the illusion of making your body smaller,” said Kel Wen.

We cannot agree more that the white dress looks amazing on Siti Nurhaliza but we are also glad to see more local fashion creatives craving their names with such amazing pieces of garments. We cannot wait for more of Behati’s collaborations with artists in the future and to catch their new collection at KLFW Digital 2o20 in November.
