Former One Direction member Liam Payne was tragically found dead on Monday, 16 October, after falling from the balcony of his third-floor hotel room in Buenos Aires, reported Reuters.

According to a statement by Argentine police, the incident occurred following a call from hotel staff requesting assistance for an intoxicated guest, raising concerns for his safety due to the room’s balcony.

It said that the hotel manager heard a loud noise before discovering Payne had fallen, and emergency workers later confirmed his death in the hotel’s interior patio.

The 31-year-old who rose to stardom with One Direction leaves behind a son, Bear, whom he shared with Girls Aloud singer Cheryl. Crowds of fans have also gathered at the scene, paying tribute to the beloved star.
