After much anticipation for its return this year, Good Vibes Festival 2024 has been cancelled by its organiser, Future Sound Asia.

According to a statement from the event management company, the festival has been called off to pay respect to the coronation ceremony of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, the King of Malaysia.

“As communicated by the authorities by way of a letter dated 27 June, 2024, large-scale performances involving international artists are not to be held on 20 July, 2024, and are to be rescheduled to a later date, out of respect for the coronation ceremony of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, the 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia,” said Future Sound Asia.

Future Sound Asia elaborated that, due to the nature of the festival which features multiple international acts on various dates, postponing the event to a later date is not feasible.

It went on to say that tickets purchased for the festival will be refunded to gig-goers soon.

“As a result, Future Sound Asia is announcing the cancellation of the festival, originally scheduled for July 20 and 21, 2024. All ticket purchasers for GVF will automatically receive full refunds to the payment method used for their purchase,” it added.
