Not too long ago, JUICE reported about a Sabahan prodigy who had solidified her name as the world’s youngest racehorse trainer at only 13-years-old.

Now, 15-year-old, Celine Chuang is showing the world that she can bend it like Beckham by becoming the country’s first female to play with Germany’s FC Bayern Munich.

Celine, who has been playing with the U-17 FC Bayern Women second squad since July, expressed that she was inspired by her siblings to play sports until she found her favourite one, which was football. She also took that passion and ran with it when she started training seriously at the Persatuan Sukan Bintang Biru (PSBB) four years ago.

Knowing she had to improve her skills, she signed up for training at the British International School Phuket (BISP) in Thailand for two years before moving to Munich.

“What I truly love about sports is the challenging new tricks and techniques that I learn during training. Playing football helps me maintain a great mindset and is a stress reliever,” she said in The Malay Mail

“The training I received in Malaysia was the foundation; I learnt all the basics there. In Thailand, the intensity of training was certainly higher, as I trained seven times a week under the Cruzeiro Academy’s programme,” Celine said in a statement issued by the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) today,” she continued.

Taking another step further into her football career, Celine had also attended a selection at the Bavarian club last February and even had the opportunity to be selected as one of the 10 players to join the second squad of the U-17 FC Bayern Women.

She stated that although it was a challenge to train in cold weather and overcome the language barrier, that never stopped her. She even took German language lessons when her family moved to Germany.

Apart from her hard work, Celine is grateful to have trained with the U-15 Wacker Munchen eV Boys Team as it gave her more confidence and allowed her to improve her football technique. She compliments the community in Germany for being welcoming to her.

Right now, since the pandemic is still ongoing, Celine is taking online football lessons and has even caught the attention of the German football community after scoring a goal for the U-15 FC Wacker Munchen eV Boys’ Team and another goal for the second squad of the U-17 FC Bayern Women in two official German leagues.

We can definitely agree that Celine is a young woman with big dreams, and she’ll do anything to make them come true. We hope that she achieves her goals of being a professional football player so she can put Malaysia on the map for women’s football.
