Disney’s Suite Life of Zack and Cody was one of the most popular shows back in the day and I can still remember hurrying home just so I could watch the twins play out their shenanigans with the patrons and employees of Tipton Hotel.

Ever since then, all of the stars have embarked on their own ventures with Cole Sprouse (Cody) joining the Riverdale ensemble, Ashley Tisdale (Maddie) joining the massive success of High School Musical and Brenda Song (London) starring in numerous blockbusters like The Social Network and Secret Obsession.

Amongst all the actors mentioned above, their pathway to stardom seems pretty by-the-books so who could’ve imagine that Dylan Sprouse (Zack) would eventually star in an epic Chinese drama?

You heard me right. Dylan Sprouse plays a sword-wielding hero in the film, The Curse of Turandot and yes, he does speak Mandarin in the movie – or at least his speech is dubbed to make it seem that way.

Check it out below:

I can’t help but laugh at the absurdity of seeing Dylan Sprouse sticking out like a sore thumb as one of the princes that attempt to break the curse that befalls the princess.

But other than that, the film looks like a tale of star-crossed lovers mixed in with epic fantasy elements like magic, apparitions and grand battles on horseback.

In case you weren’t aware, Turandot is actually a well-known opera and many Chinese viewers are excited to watch the film adaptation.

For us, however, we’re excited to watch Zack woo a Chinese princess as he zooms across the battlefield, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon style.
