No, seriously, stop panic-buying bread! According to Malay Mail, well-known bread manufacturer – Gardenia Bakeries (KL) Sdn Bhd today revealed on their Facebook that it will not be able to increase its product supply in the market, therefore, urging Malaysians to keep their purchases of its products to normal levels of consumption.

Basically saying, there’s plenty to go around if you only take what you need as they churn out bread from time to time.

Ever since the implementation of Movement Control Order (MCO), a quick step into hypermarkets and convenience stores in the city showed not only Gardenia but also other brands, were selling like hot buns.

Regarding the shortage of bread, Gardenia explained through its comment section that its factories have already reached their maximum production threshold.

“We would like to inform that at the moment, our factories have reached the maximum threshold. As a result, we are not able to increase our supply of products in the market. We also wish to thank you for your understanding and all inconveniences that arise are very much regretted,” read a comment by Gardenia.

I know we love our bread but as we go through MCO, let’s think about others and buy only what we need. Not everyone can afford to panic-buy and you don’t need four packs of roti for two people! It’s going to expire by the time you get to your second pack. Be reasonable and we’ll get through this together y’all.

Let’s not take the saying ‘let’s get this bread’ literally…
