If rapid-fire jokes and aggressively good wordplay are your idea of a good night out, American (more specifically, Lebanese-Palestinian-Syrian-Italian-American) comedian Sammy Obeid has Kuala Lumpur on his tour itinerary.

The stand-up comic will be performing at Dominus Arts Venue on 1 November at 6:00 p.m., bringing his ‘Wit Supremacy Tour’ to the city as the tour makes its way through Asia.

Obeid has made a name for himself with comedy that moves at a pretty relentless pace, whether he’s working a room or posting clips online. His credits include appearances on Netflix, TBS’ Conan, NBC’s America’s Got Talent and Last Comic Standing, as well as hosting Netflix’s 100 Humans, where he put human behaviour through a series of rather strange experiments and social challenges.

Then there’s the fact that he once performed stand-up for 1,001 consecutive nights.Yes, really.

Starting in 2010, Obeid spent nearly three years getting onstage every single night, eventually surpassing the previous record after 731 consecutive performances. Breaking the old world record on Day 731, Sammy set the new one at 1,001 Arabian Nights of Comedy.

He completed the 1,001-night run in 2013, earning attention from the likes of TIME and The New York Times along the way.

His upcoming Asian run will take him through Tokyo, Seoul, Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, and Bali, with the KL show landing between his Bangkok and Jakarta dates.

So, if you fancy spending your Sunday evening watching someone who apparently decided that doing stand-up occasionally simply wasn’t enough, this one’s for you.

‘Wit Supremacy Tour’ takes place at Dominus Arts Venue on 1 November 2026 at 6:00 p.m.
