Indonesia’s Current Top Hip-Hop Act, RAMENGVRL Will Take Over Kuala Lumpur on 19 August at The Bee

RAMENGVRL, Indonesia’s current largest hip hop export, will rock the stage at The Bee in Publika, Kuala Lumpur on 19 August, confirmed Warner Music Malaysia.

The hip-hop star, born and raised in Jakarta, has become a worldwide phenomenon because of her ferociously catchy songs, unmistakable sense of style, and electrifying live shows.

RAMENGVRL has been making waves in the music industry since she first appeared in 2018. Her tracks have amassed tens of millions of listens and she has been featured on the stages of events like We The Fest, Asian Sound Syndicate, and FLAVS.

In 2021, Forbes named RAMENGVRL one of Indonesia’s 30 under 30 (2021), and she’s won four AMI Awards (the Indonesian equivalent of a Grammy), including Rap/Hip Hop Song Of The Year (2018, 2019, 2021) and Urban Collaboration Of The Year (2021).

She was recently welcomed into Spotify’s Global ‘EQUAL’ campaign, and her music has appeared on the soundtracks of EA’s Need For Speed and Netflix’s Hip-Hop series ‘Rhythm + Flow.’

Official Venue The Bee in Publika spokesperson, Rahul Kukreja said that this would be a rare concert by RAMENGVRL in an intimate setting, offering music lovers an opportunity to get close to one of Asia’s finest creative minds.

“RAMENGVRL’s recent catalogue also includes ‘FACTS’ and ‘Ain’t No MF’ featuring Korea’s Ph-1. The melodic sounds ‘Onto The Next’ and her official remix of JVKE’s viral hit ‘This Is What Love Feels Like’ further cements her versatility; and with each release, she continues to push the boundaries, display her vast musical range and prove she’s got both global and regional appeal,” said Rahul.

Rahul also confirmed that four of the best new generation live acts in the country, including rapper ChronicalZ, indie synth-pop project Lost Spaces, and vocalist of the JB-based hip-hop/rap group Forceparkbois, Nakalness, and Luqman Podolski will be performing as opening acts for the show.
