Imagine you’re in primary school and you see this kid pull up with his Proton Saga… would you be his new best friend?

Police are currently on a lookout for a 9-year-old boy who was seen revving up the engine of his parents’ Proton Saga in a viral video.

In the video, an onlooker stopped the boy to ask what he was doing. The man first asked the boy what standard he was in to which the boy replied, “Standard 3.” He then asked if he could actually drive and the boy just smiled.

After a few more questions, the boy simply drove off, rather fast might I add, on a seemingly empty and derelict road.

The video sparked concern amongst parents who wondered how a child that young could be allowed to drive. Not only was it dangerous to the boy himself, but other drivers on the road could potentially get hurt.

Deputy Superintendent, Anuar Bakri Abdul Salam, of Rembau is currently investigating the incident and trying to track down the boy’s parents. The 53-second video titled, ‘Handa orang Rombau haa’ which basically means, “Rembau people are awesome” has since been uploaded to PDRM’s Facebook page in hopes that the public may offer some assistance in tracking the boy down. Since the boy is underaged, his face is blurred in the clip.
