Tom Yam restaurants are so common in Malaysia that they’re almost always a top choice for the question – “Nak makan mana?” I think we can all agree that Malaysians love Tom Yam, and if you’re an avid goer of these restaurants, then you know one specific character that will always be there to greet you – the Akak Tom Yam!

Known for wearing short-sleeved T-shirts with a hijab, it’s surprising that most Akak Tom Yam look kind of similar in every shop! Perhaps they have a secret society of Akak Tom Yam(s) that we, netizens don’t know of… Hey, it’s 2020, anything is possible.

While last week we had someone create an accurate representation of a traditional Malaysian house in the game The Sims 4, this week, a Twitter user who goes by Anis created a Tom Yam restaurant named D’Sims Seafood. Aww… that’s cute!

The best thing about it? The spot on waiters – Akak Tom Yam and Abang Tom Yam – whom you’ve probably already met in real life. I’m still laughing over the fact that Anis fitted a pair of selipar jamban for the Abang Tom Yam – OMG, the accuracy!

We have too much spare time at home and now, look at us – imitating real life in The Sims 4, lmao! Well, since big artistes like Travis Scott are launching new songs and throwing virtual concerts in games, maybe we could meet up in an online game to celebrate a virtual Hari Raya if things don’t recover quick enough?

As long as we’re staying in and flattening the curve, I don’t see a problem!
