As the transboundary haze from Indonesia continues to choke the region, Malaysians have had to deal with unhealthy air quality on a day-to-day basis. It’s particularly bad in the Kuching, Samarahan, and Sri Aman areas of Sarawak, as well as parts of the Klang Valley.

While the haze is serious, we’d say there’s no harm in finding some nuggets of humour in the situation, seeing that we’re all on the same boat. And that’s exactly what some Malaysian property agents are doing.

Freehold, free haze

On 4 September 2026, real estate negotiator Iswandy Ismail posted a listing for a three-room single-storey home located in Desa Ilmu, Kota Samarahan.

While the description of the home’s features and amenities all seem very typical in terms of property listings, the single photo included tells a very different, cheeky story:

So pretty. (source: Iswandy Ismail / Facebook)

The home is probably really cute and pretty, if only we could see it through all that thick haze. After all, Ismail advertised it as suitable for couples or small families, with it being strategically located just seven minutes from a mall, a petrol station, a surau, as well as a few schools.

“Beautiful view of the house. Must be cool because of the thick fog,” quipped one Facebook user in the comments section, while another person playfully inquired about the availability of “free oxygen” as an add-on to the rental package.

All jokes aside, the property actually is very quaint and humble for a small family. Here it is without the AI haze:

Iswandy posted the actual photos of the house in the comments section, allowing viewers to see it in its full non-AI glory. It’s a brilliant and timely marketing strategy if you ask us.

Ong Tze Kok, who’s a manager at a real estate company, listed this lovely property on 6 September 2026:

Very big one. (source: Ong Tze Kok / Facebook)

According to the listing, its asking price is RM7 million but “because of the haze owner say discount gao gao.” It’s a freehold property, if that’s relevant to you. But one Facebook user asked if there’s “free haze”. If the photo isn’t enough of an indication, it clearly does offer free haze, even for the neighbours.

Ong later posted an update, saying the property had finally been sold, adding that sometimes you’ll see Ultraman fighting a monster in the background. Evidence below:

As you can tell, hazy homes offer more than just your conventional amenities. Got Ultraman.
