It Was Back to The 70’s at Pisco Bar’s 6th Anniversary
Kuala Lumpur is constantly buzzing with the latest happenings – music events, art and photography exhibitions, flea markets, workshops, you name it. With so much going on, F&B establishments are in a constant loop of upgrading to be on top. One of the many establishments that hasn’t lost its magic throughout the years is Pisco, and they have the crowd, vibe and atmosphere to prove it.
Featured on JUICE when it opened back in 2013 as one of the many hot spots in the city, Pisco went from a humble venue at Jalan Mesui to its current reputation as one of the best places to go to if you want to groove to amazing international acts like Benjamin Damage and James White, both whom are making their way here in April.
Turning 6 last March, we were invited to celebrate the special occasion over Peruvian and Spanish food, curated cocktails, and lots of laughter. As we dined downstairs, a crowd of regulars and newcomers came dressed in their best Woodstock gear. Needless to say there were lots of peace symbols, flared pants and tinted round sunglasses in the building.
After dinner, we headed upstairs to Barrio – the bar’s stylish event space where the real party went down. The crowd was transported through time with a nostalgic music selection that bonded the young and old together. With a music curator like Jonnyvicious, one can only expect banging tunes on the dance floor.
For the unfamiliar, Pisco hosts a Spin Night for the ladies on Wednesdays, where you can spin the wheel and win a free drink. While on Tuesdays, film aficionados flock by Pisco for their well known movie nights–a collaboration with embassies and cultural chambers. We’re a little bias when we say Pisco is a must-go, but for a place that caters to every kind of patron, you don’t know what you’re missing ’til you get there!
