Get Trippy & Weird with Netflix’s New Show ‘The Midnight Gospel’
Is life just one big simulation? What are you, a metaphor? What should I have for lunch? – Those are some of life’s biggest questions, and Netflix’s new animated show invites us to seek those answers.
Created by Pendleton Ward (Adventure Time) and comedian Duncan Trussell (The Duncan Trussell Family Hour), The Midnight Gospel is about Clancy Gilroy, a spacecaster who uses a multiverse simulator to interview people on various simulated worlds.
It isn’t your typical animated series, for the show takes conversations from Trussell’s podcast, cuts and pieces it together and is animated by Titmouse which then creates a seamless storyline. Gilroy is voiced by Trussell, while the guests are sourced directly from the podcast mentioned.
Trussell is known for his skill at picking his guests’ brain about anything and everything and asking questions that make you think hard. Whether it’s about psychedelic drugs, consciousness, war and politics, The Midnight Gospel takes you through that conversation in a beautiful, mind-bending trip across the stars.
The Midnight Gospel will be available to stream on Netflix on 20 April 2020.
