Crossover & Japanese Streetwear Label Wacko Maria Link Up for First-Ever Collab
Leading local streetwear retailer Crossover has joined forces with Tokyo-based label, Wacko Maria, for their first-ever collaboration. For those of you who are familiar with the two brands, you’re probably thinking, “about damned time!”
Crossover has long provided the easiest access to the Japanese brand in Malaysia. But aside from what already feels like a natural and organic union of likeminded brands, the collaboration also commemorates the opening of Crossover’s flagship store at The Exchange TRX.
“Paradise Kuala Lumpur”
The collaboration features a black and white graphic tee that proudly displays co-branded ‘Wacko Maria’ and ‘Crossover’ logos on the front, with ‘Wacko Maria Paradise Kuala Lumpur’ emblazoned on the back. Both sides make use of Wacko Maria’s signature font, adding some playful streetwear flair to the piece.
Crossover calls it a “simple and direct design”, without taking away or diluting its message. Regardless of the design inspiration, this writer can just call it what it is: Clean as hell.
Made in Japan, the washed heavyweight tee is 100% cotton and also comes with unique vinyl record-inspired packaging to signify the two brands’ love for music.
If you missed out on the online release (it’s sold out at the time of writing), you might still be able to get your hands on one when they hit the racks at Crossover’s flagship TRX store on 6 April.
