At 10:40PM near Devi’s Restaurant, a female customer caught the suspect red-handed when he was snapping pictures of a 24-year old woman without her consent. An upskirt photo is essentially when a predator covertly takes pictures of your underwear from a lower angle.

As soon as the female customer witnessed the crime, she lodged a police report at a station nearby. Swiftly, police officers arrived at the scene and approached the suspect. They insisted he came with them to the station to give his statement but before anything could be done, the suspect bolted from the restaurant which led to a chase. Brickfields acting police chief, Supt Arifai Tarawi, said,

“In our efforts to chase and apprehend the suspect, he suddenly ran away and we gave chase.”

The police managed to apprehend him but not without a struggle. The suspect continued to evade the police and even succeeded. However, moments later, he collapsed and lost consciousness. The ambulance was called and he was rushed to the University of Malaya Medical Centre where he was pronounced dead.

Post-mortem inspection is currently ongoing but for now, the case has been classified as a sudden death.

The most viable answer to his sudden death would be a heart-attack considering the shock of getting caught and the aggressive fight he put out to prevent arrest. But it seems like a form of swift justice for what he was caught doing to an innocent woman.
