M’sian Supermodel Amber Chia Sustains Serious Injuries After Fainting From Exhaustion

Malaysian supermodel and actress Amber Chia was rushed to the hospital on Sunday, 4 May, after collapsing due to work-related exhaustion.

The 43-year-old took to Instagram on Wednesday, 7 May, to share a series of photos documenting her hospitalisation, including a touching image of her 15-year-old son, Ashton Wong, keeping her company at her bedside.

She also disclosed that this wasn’t the first time she had fainted.

In the heartfelt post, Chia revealed the extent of her injuries from the fall, including 10 stitches on her chin, more than 10 on her lips, and damage to seven teeth.

“I kept asking myself why I fainted. I always thought I was healthy, so why did I suddenly lose consciousness? This is the third time I’ve collapsed.

“Each time I wake up, I’m filled with fear, worried that next time, I might not be as lucky to survive. The wounds hurt, but what hurts more is my heart,” she wrote.

Throughout her hospital stay, Chia underwent a series of medical tests, including a CT scan, MRI, and electrocardiogram (ECG), to identify the cause of her fluctuating health

“Even if there’s no answer, life still has to go on,” she wrote, determined to move forward despite the uncertainty.

Chia concluded her post by thanking her loved ones and supporters who stood by her side during the difficult time. She expressed gratitude for the visits, thoughtful gifts, and outpouring of concern.

“Because of you, I didn’t feel alone, nor did I feel as scared as I was. I’m grateful that you have warmed my heart. From now on, I promise to take good care of myself. Love you all,” she added.
