Recently, according to The Star, a 40-year-old saleswoman has been incessantly harassed by her abusive ex-boyfriend for 4 months after they broke up in June. According to the woman, he has been “terrorising” her and even showing up to her apartment uninvited.
The incident began to heighten when her ex started stalking her by showing up to her workplace, family home and apartment, where she lives with her 10-year-old son.
He would call the victim while she was at work, on the office phone, just to berate her.
In a press conference at Wisma MCA, the victim revealed that she tried blocking his number but he would use other phones to call her. As of right now, two police reports have been made against him, one in July and the other in September.
In September, the victim feared for her life as well as her child’s when he showed up to their apartment. At the time, the victim even called over her ex-husband to ask for help.
Despite the police reports, the abusive ex still would not leave her alone.
MCA Public Services and Complaints Department head Datuk Seri Michael Chong, who organised the press conference, said he hoped that by highlighting the case to the media, the harassment would end. He said,
“People like him, they get scared when they are exposed. If it continues, I will contact him personally.”
