‘Game of Thrones’ Actors Pedro Pascal & Bella Ramsey Casted As Joel & Ellie In HBO’s ‘The Last of Us’ Series
The internet can stop speculating now as HBO has found its lead stars for the upcoming The Last of Us series, which is the company’s adaptation of the hit video game.
The Mandalorian‘s Pedro Pascal has been cast as Joel Miller alongside his Game of Thrones’ co-star, Bella Ramsey who will play the role of Ellie.
While Pascal and Ramsey never shared screen time together in Game of Thrones, both of them will trade the land of Westeros to venture across the ravaged post-apocalyptic United States depicted in The Last of Us.
If you’ve never played the game (why haven’t you?), the series is set 20 years after the collapse of modern civilisation and centres around the relationship between Joel and 14-year old Ellie, who might just be the key to saving the world.
Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie out of the oppressive quarantine zone. What started as a small, easy job slowly becomes a heartbreaking journey for both of them as they traverse across the states and depend on each other for survival.
The Last of Us series is being led by Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin and The Last of Us game’s director and Naughty Dog Co-President Neil Druckmann.
This is all the information we have about the series, but it will suffice… for now.
In the meantime, if you haven’t played The Last of Us, now’s your chance to experience the brutal heartbreak.
