These Children In KL Can’t Afford Transportation Fees To School… Here’s How You Can Help
The idea of getting sent to school comes as a luxury for some people compared to others who have transportation difficulties.
Dignity For Children, a holistic learning centre for the underprivileged urban poor is calling for donations to support their transportation needs.
As explained in a recent Instagram post, Dignity For Children is looking to raise funds because most of the children’s parents do not own a private vehicle, and transportation cost is expensive as it is RM150 per month, per child for chartered bus fared.
“One of our student’s mom will cycle every day to send him to the bus stop to board the bus to get to Dignity. They live in Segambut,” the post said.
Moreover, students are not allowed to take e-hailing transportation as they cannot be left on their own.
According to the post, transportation has been one of their highest expenses as an organisation, next to rental but as high as it is, the funds can’t be cut off as it would potentially disrupt the underprivileged students’ only mode of transportation to get to school.
If you’d like to support the cause, head on to Dignity for Children’s website to donate. We hope that the organisation manages to raise enough funds for more underprivileged kids to go to school with ease.
