Fugitive Jamal Yunos Offers Himself to be UMNO Youth Chief Minister
Our favourite alleged gun-totting Dato’-performance artist-fugitive has offered to be UMNO’s Youth Chief Minister despite being on the run from the law.
Via an UMNO Facebook Page, Jamal was officially announced as a candidate who would be contesting for the post in the June 23 party polls.
Jamal, who is Sungai Besi UMNO Chief, said that his intention was “to rebuild the fighting spirit amongst UMNO members nationwide, especially among the youth.” He went on to say, “Let’s rise for the spirit to help (the party), so it can once again enjoy the support and trust from the people.”
Malaysian and Indonesian police are currently on a manhunt for Jamal who is rumoured to have fled the country after a video of him explaining his predicament in an unknown palm oil plantation went viral.
He has been detained in Malaysia in the past on numerous occasions for offences ranging from being a public nuisance (though the towel act was quite surreal) to possessing firearms.
Last month, while undergoing treatment for back pain, Jamal escaped from the Ampang Puteri Specialist Hospital. He was discovered missing few hours after he was charged with three offences, including smashing beer bottles in front of the Selangor State Secretary Building in Shah Alam last year.
Selangor CID chief SAC Fadzil Ahmat, said Jamal was charged with three offences at the Ampang Puteri Hospital and the Magistrate allowed him bail of RM 3,000 for each charge. “During the bail documentation process, he left the hospital compound,” Fadzil said.
Our question now is, if Jamal had only RM9,000 in total to pay for his bail, why is he acting like such a drama queen?
