Fashion Designer Azzim Aziz Releases a Hantu Pocong Styled Hijab For Raya
With Raya just around the corner, there are two things one should prep ahead: plans to balik kampung and outfits. While it’s almost a norm to go full-on glam during Eid (think sequins and shimmers), it’s also a season to go crazy with silhouettes! In a world where Naelofar Hijab and dUCk scarves are taking over, local designer Azzim Aziz took an unconventional route with his latest hijab line, quirkily named the Bawal Pocong.
“We decided to tie the ends of the bawal scarf as a topknot to try something different but after the photoshoot only did we see the resemblance and decided to call it Bawal Pocong,” said the designer to Hitz. Despite the one-of-a-kind style, Azzim’s hijab went viral upon release, and even sold out within a month! A pretty impressive achievement for a hijab line that bears so much similarities with the Pocong, a famous local ghost.
Don’t be discouraged if the scarves are sold out, you can totally recreate this look with whatever you have at home, then pair it with a horror inspired makeup. The Bawal Pocong have also gained a fanbase in Indonesia, after being picked up by several Indonesian media. That being said, we expect some serious looks this Raya!
Jokes aside, don’t let the typical Raya aesthetic limit you this festive season. Follow Azzim Aziz on Instagram to check out more looks.
