After the surprise reveal earlier this year that Sacha Baron Cohen had already been secretly-filming the sequel to 2006’s Borat, the fictional Kazhak journalist returns to the land of the free to annihilate Donald Trump’s America in Borat Subsequent Moviefilm: Delivery of Prodigious Bribe to American Regime to Make Benefit Once Glorious Nation Nation of Kazakhstan. Yes, this is probably the longest movie title in history.
It was reportedly filmed discreetly in summer, so fans are expecting jabs at current issues, including the ongoing pandemic.
The movie was previously thought to be titled Borat: Gift of Pornographic Monkey to Vice Premiere Mikhael Pence to Make Benefit Recently Diminished Nation of Kazakhstan but has since been confirmed untrue.
The sequel will follow Sacha Baron Cohen’s infamous character, travelling across America and as always, getting into weird and hilarious situations. After watching the trailer, we’d expect nothing less from the person who also brought us Ali G and Bruno.
Borat Subsequent Moviefilm (that’s the short-version of the title) will be available on streaming platform Amazon Prime on 23 October, just in time for the US election.
