Touch ‘n Go is giving Malaysian Pokémon lovers another reason to “catch ’em all” in the form of limited edition Pokémon-themed RFID tags as well as charms.

The collection features two fan-favourite Pokémon: Pikachu and Gengar. Whether you’re zipping through tolls or tapping in at parking lots, your daily commute just got a little more whimsical thanks to your Pokémon “companions”.

There are two separate items in the lineup. First, and the one this writer’s most excited about, is a charm in either a Pikachu or Gengar variant. If you’re not familiar with Touch ‘n Go charms, they basically function like Touch ‘n Go cards, except they’re much cuter in terms of form factor (though you probably can’t stuff one in your wallet).

You can use it to pay for tolls, parking, and even public transport. Just treat it like a card, which means you’ll have to link it to your Touch ‘n Go eWallet.

But if you’re all about effortless toll payments (when other drivers get it right, of course), the Pikachu and Gengar-themed RFID tags might be more your preference. Functionally, they’re identical to the standard RFID sticker, but the Pokémon editions come with exclusive packaging and a collector’s artwork card.

And much like the standard RFID sticker, you can only place one on any given car, so choose your Pokémon wisely.

Selling like hotcakes at the time of writing

You can get your hands on your own Pokémon RFID sticker or charm via the official Touch ‘n Go online store, as well as the official Touch ‘n Go Shopee page. If you’d rather get one in person, head to the Touch ‘n Go Hub in Nu Sentral and Bangsar South.
