If you’re like me, you’re probably not completely aware of what bitcoin truly is but you know enough to deduct that it’s a pretty big deal.

Many are assuming that bitcoins are the future and it’s best to make the most of its bull run (#HODL). Even our local celebrities have dabbled in creating their own cryptocurrency due to how lucrative it is.

So, it’s really no surprise that an Indonesian woman accepted the cryptocurrency as part of her dowry when she married an entrepreneur.

When 31-year-old Bau Tenri Abeng, was proposed to by 47-year-old, Raja Muhammad Hasbi, she personally requested for him to gift her 2 units of bitcoin worth 1.98 billion rupiah (RM560,370) at the time of writing this article.

She saw how the bitcoin value was increasing and decided to capitalise on it while it was doing well. According to Milmaya Alkhaerat, the host of their wedding ceremony, Tenri was proposed to with the bitcoins as well as 3 bars of gold, gold jewellery and prayer robes.

Now, Tenri and her husband live in Jakarta and plan to honeymoon at Jogjakarta once the pandemic settles down.
