While we usually throw out the plastic packaging from everyday dry food like biscuits and bread, a fashion designer from Johor Bahru decided to turn it into unique bags!

Ranging from vintage-looking clutches to messenger bags as well as fanny packs, Ms Wan from Wan’s Handmade knows how to make it look fresh. When asked what led Wan to create these masterpieces, she told Johor Foodie that local performing arts theater – Black Room Theatre & Illustration – is her main inspiration.

Recently, she shared her Hup Seng Crackers handbags on Facebook and many loved it! Check it out:

The post received 1,600 reactions, 4,300 shares and 2,300 comments that mostly queried about the bag’s details. In the post, Wan also shared a brief history of the iconic Hup Seng Crackers which was founded in the 1950s in Batu Pahat by four brothers. Now that’s some Johor Pride!

Apparently, she has even taught children how to recreate new products using plastic packaging. Since then, she has been experimenting with different designs and methods.
