An accidental shot from a security guard’s pump gun injured a manager at the bank in Jalan Bandar Baru Rawang yesterday afternoon (27 August).
The incident happened at 1:20pm, when the guard just left the washroom and accidentally dropped his weapon. When he tried to pick it up, he fired a shot by mistake.
According to NST, the shot went through the 57-year-old bank manager’s right arm. He was immediately brought to the Selayang Hospital and reported to be in stable condition.
Gombak police chief Assistant Commissioner Arifai Tarawe confirmed the incident and said checks showed the security guard has served the bank since January last year.
