By now you’ve probably made peace with the fact that you’ll probably achieve a whole bunch of major life goals before you even get to play GTA VI. With numerous delays, expectations for the upcoming Rockstar title are extremely high.

But if you’re not one to wait for such a game, there’s a similar title coming to PC soon. It’s called Samson, and it’s launching on 8 April 2026. If you’re reading this on or after that date, congrats, you can download it right now!

A debt that increases by the hour

Set in the fictional city of Tyndalston, Samson is an open world game that lets you complete missions or roam freely in the expansive map. Much like the GTA franchise, there’s a gripping main story if you’re committed to completing the required tasks, but it’s also a lot darker and grittier.

You play as Samson, a man who’s got a ludicrous amount of debt, and it’s only growing as time goes by. Expect to get into a lot of fights and complete morally questionable missions in order to lower/pay back your debt.

But the stakes are even higher for Samson because the dangerous people he owes money to are using his sister as collateral. He’s got to pay off his debt, by any and all means necessary.

Unlike similar titles, there won’t be much (or any) gun-fighting in this game. Instead, you’re expected to get into hand-to-hand combat in order to fend off any opponents. Thankfully, however, you’ll still be able to drive around in a sick set of wheels.

Just watch out for the cops, who’ll have no problem chasing you until your car wrecks.

Only available on PC, for now

According to Christofer Sundberg, the founder of the game’s publisher Liquid Swords, Samson will launch on 8 April 2026 with PC compatibility only.

But he has hinted at the company working on a console version, saying, “The game is running on consoles, but we don’t have the bandwidth right now to start the final development. We have to go through the platform holder submissions and all that. Once the game is out on April 8, we’ll get cracking on the console versions. (Almost) Nothing can stop us!”

Samson will be available for download on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
