Wah! PETRONAS’ Drama Series Is Back This Raya & Things Are Getting Super Intense
Remember PETRONAS’ drama series that aired its pilot episode during Chinese New Year? Well, they’re back with a bang, with a plot twist to boot. :O
The drama series, titled 366, revolves around the lives of various Malaysians in a futuristic setting and explores stories about their realities, where second chances play a theme. This seven-episode drama series breaks the mould of traditional festive storytelling by portraying one plot over seven episodes, instead of one stand-alone video for each occasion.
In keeping with PETRONAS’ tradition of telling authentic Malaysian experiences, this film aims to show how our nation has evolved in recent years as a result of the hardships we’ve experienced. Directed by award-winning director Kabir Bhatia, 366 is a tale of exploration, self-discovery, and redemption.
The first episode centred on the main heroine Zhi Yi, her friends and family.
While returning home for Chinese New Year with her mother, Zhi Yi is torn between having a reunion dinner with her father and giving in to her mother’s mysterious request. When the unexpected happens, Zhi Yi is left struggling to accept her predicament.
27 April marked the launch of the second episode of the series, titled Hari Ke-123 or Day 123, in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
In the second episode, we are introduced to Poji, a courageous and hardworking young man who goes back to his hometown to fulfill his dream with his childhood love. However, things take a turn and Poji is left reeling after experiencing unexpected surprises along the way.
Watch the full video here:
The video opens with Poji stating his intentions to marry Ayu, his childhood love, following a promise to his mother that he would get engaged this year.
He describes Ayu as a brave, yet soft-spoken woman. Reminiscing, he remembers how she freed birds from the smugglers’ den when they were younger. In doing that, she released his fears as well.
However, Poji realises he might not be able to fulfil his desires due to some unforeseen circumstances.
Poji is crestfallen, but his mother tells him to pull through and accept God’s plan as it is. This goes to show that sometimes, even if things don’t work out for us, there’s always a reason why things happen.
Then… jeng jeng jeng, here’s where things get a little mysterious. Remember the bus accident in episode one?
It turns out that there may be something deeper at play. As the story unravels and the plot thickens, we find out that the accident might have been caused by something (or, someone) unexpected.
Well, we gotta wait for the next episode to find out what’s really going on here.
All in all, PETRONAS wants to wish everyone Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
Datin Anita Azrina Abdul Aziz, PETRONAS Senior General Manager of Group Strategic Communications, said, “It has only been several months into 2022, but we can already see Malaysians resuming their daily lives and finding new purposes, chasing dreams, and leaving the past behind. The best we can do is keep moving forward, individually, collectively, and as a nation.
“As we reunite with families this Hari Raya, let us acknowledge how far we have come, our courage, and the sacrifices we made in the past couple of years. Let us not take anything for granted and cherish the company of our loved ones.”
Through this, PETRONAS hopes to convey the message that we must not let the uncertainties and mistakes of the present prevent us from moving forward and prospering. We can only rise to new heights if we dare to look beyond our current limitations. <3
