Michelle Yeoh recently solidified her position as a trailblazer in the entertainment business with her win at the 94th Academy Awards for her role in the film Everything Everywhere All at Once, and her accomplishment quickly became source of pride for Malaysians nationwide.

But the actress isn’t done making headlines yet! Malaysia has been abuzz with excitement since Yeoh’s return to Ipoh, her hometown. She was also seen presenting her mother, 83, with her Oscar and seized the occasion to pay tribute to her late father, Yeoh Kian Teik, in conjunction with Qingming.

Via a status update on Facebook announcing her trip back to Malaysia whereby she thanked her parents for their love and support, Yeoh added that she was thrilled to bring the trophy home to Malaysia to celebrate with her family.

Yeoh’s return to her hometown has received favourable reactions from netizens, who find it heartwarming that she is basking in her historical win with her loved ones. Many have also applauded her for maintaining a sense of modesty in the face of her success and have voiced their admiration for her commitment to her roots.

Yeoh will host an open fan meet at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur to commemorate her return home. Fans will be able to meet her in all her glory and join her in celebrating her momentous victory on April 18th at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur!
