Malaysians have had to endure a few agonising weeks of billboards asking them, “Are you okay?”—leading to plenty of speculation around the potential return of My Chemical Romance to Malaysia. Well, now it’s official: My Chemical Romance is returning to Kuala Lumpur in 2026.

Yes, legit. No more rumours. No more second-guessing that blurry silhouette on the flyover near Cheras.

MCR to take the stage at National Stadium Bukit Jalil on Thursday, 30 April 2026

Part of their Long Live The Black Parade tour, My Chemical Romance will be giving us their first show on Malaysian soil since their iconic, rain-soaked night at Stadium Merdeka in 2007. That’s over 18 years ago.

If you were lucky enough to catch them back then, you’ll definitely remember the chaos and the raw emotion that filled the stadium with 10,000 angsty and emo concert-goers, singing their hearts out to I’m Not Okay (I Promise) in the pouring rain. Damn. Life was so good.

If you didn’t see them back then, you can make up for lost time by getting yourself some tickets for next year’s KL stop!

  • Bulacan, Philippines – Philippine Arena (25 April)

  • Singapore – Indoor Stadium (28 April)

  • Jakarta, Indonesia – Hammersonic Festival (3 May)

For die-hard fans, this is your chance to scream “Thank You For The Venom” with thousands of fellow emos, to cry unapologetically during ‘Cancer’, and to throw your entire soul into ‘Famous Last Words’.

And yes, ‘Welcome to the Black Parade’ will be played. And yes, when Gerard asks, “Do you have the strength to carry on?”, you will sob and say yes. Because you’re older now, but still just as dramatic.

So iron your black marching jackets, straighten your hair, and get ready for a full-blown resurrection.
