Man Rejected by Ex-Girlfriend Throws Petrol Bomb Into Her New Lover’s House at Melaka
According to The Star, a 50-year-old man threw a petrol bomb into his friend’s house out of jealousy at Taman Melaka Baru.
Melaka Tengah OCPD Asst Comm Afzanizar Ahmad said the suspect was rejected by his girlfriend, 46, who fell in love with one of his friends. He was detained a few hours after he tossed the petrol bomb into the house on Monday (15 Feb).
Afzanizar said the 49-year-old house owner heard a loud noise outside his house at about 6pm and lodged a police report at 7.45pm on the same day. It was also noted that the house owner who works as a painter saw a man fleeing in a car after throwing the petrol bomb.
“A shoe rack was destroyed while the impact also discoloured part of the wall,” Afzanizar said yesterday (16 Feb).
Afzanizar explained that the suspect has been detained at 10pm at Taman Bachang Utama on the same day. For now, the man has been remanded until 20 Feb to assist in investigations under Section 435 of the Penal Code for committing mischief by fire or any explosive substance.
