Local Man Dies In A Fight Over Fertiliser… Suspect Believed To Have Criminal & Drug History
Yesterday (24 Oct) in Parit Buntar, Perak – two men were involved in a brawl which tragically ended with one of their deaths.
Residents of Bagan Tiang, Tanjung Piandang where the incident took place believed the dispute stemmed from one of them suspecting the other of stealing his fertiliser.
According to Perak Chief of Police – Datuk Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri, the incident was triggered after the 47-year-old victim stopped the suspect’s motorcycle in the middle of the road for an unstated reason.
When the suspect pulled over, he was greeted with a punch to his cheek which was followed up by a punch to the victim’s nose before igniting into a full-blown fight until both parties fell into a water canal.
After winning the brawl, the suspect returned to his home, whereas the victim collapsed and lost all consciousness.
Datuk Mohd Yusri also stated that when authorities arrived at the scene, the victim was confirmed to be dead by a team from the Malaysian Ministry of Health.
“Following the incident, the 40-year-old suspect was arrested at his home about 100 meters from where the fight took place at 6pm yesterday. (24 Oct)”
A urine screening test revealed that the self-employed suspect was positive for methamphetamine and has six past criminal records involving various criminal and drug cases.
As of right now, the case is being investigated following Section 302 of the Penal Code.
