Lady Gaga Is First in Line to Play Harley Quinn in Joker Musical Sequel
Hey, remember the 2019 film Joker?
Of course you do! The film saw Joaquin Phoenix winning an Oscar for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role and is arguably one of the best films that came out in 2019.
If you’re a fan of the movie, we have good news!
According to reports, Phoenix and Warner Bros. are negotiating a contract for the sequel and Phoenix was previously seen reading the screenplay in public.
The movie’s sequel is named Joker: Folie à deux, a psychiatric syndrome in which two individuals with a close relationship share an identical mental disorder.
Two individuals you say?
If you could connect A and B, it’s pretty evident that the movie will introduce the iconic, fierce and comedic anti-heroine, Harley Quinn!
All of us were blown away when we first saw Margot Robbie wielding the black and red embellished bat as Harley Quinn.
She bodied the hell out of Harley!
Robbie has been kicking asses as Harley Quinn for 3 films now and the actress even did her own stunts!
This time, rumour has it that a critically acclaimed pop star turned actress is now being considered to play Quinn.
The actress is none other than Mother Monster herself, Lady Gaga!
Lady Gaga most recently starred as Patrizia Reggiani in the 2021 film House of Gucci, although she is most known for her work in A Star Is Born.
Who could forget her legendary quote from the film’s promotion, “There can be 100 people in a room and 99 of them don’t believe in you but all it takes is one…”
Lady Gaga playing Harley Quinn seems fitting as the Joker sequel is said to be in a musical style.
If Gaga can escape the casting blunder made by Jared Leto as Joker in Suicide Squad, we’ll be relieved.
Leto is also ironically Gaga’s co-star in House of Gucci. Coincidence? I think not!
