Beloved actor Keanu Reeves from movies like The Matrix franchise and John Wick recently revealed in a Reddit AMA that he’s got a strong interest in playing a particular Marvel superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Can you guess who… bub? If you’re a Marvel fan you probably already know who it is but for those of you who don’t, it’s Wolverine!

Despite not having a confirmed role just yet, Reeves has had talks with Marvel Studios in the past and it seems like it’s only a matter of time before he joins the MCU.

Although Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine is set to make a comeback in Deadpool 3, the X-Men franchise is now under the Marvel Studios banner, so Reeves could potentially still play the character in the MCU canon.

While some fans may argue that Reeves is too old to play a new version of Wolverine, his age in the comics is over 200 years old due to his impressive healing abilities, which allows for a wider age range of actors to play the character.

However, Wolverine isn’t the only Marvel character Reeves is interested in playing. He has also expressed interest in playing Ghost Rider, aka Johnny Blaze, in the past.

Although Reeves turned down the role of Captain Marvel villain Yon-Rogg in the MCU, it seems like he’s holding out for a larger role he’s truly passionate about.

It’s clear that Reeves has a strong ongoing relationship with Marvel Studios, and they are just as interested in bringing him into the MCU at some point down the line. If not Wolverine or Ghost Rider, then hopefully Marvel Studios can find Reeves the perfect hero or villain to play in the near future.

It’s really exciting as a Marvel fan to know that Keanu Reeves is still interested in joining the MCU and that Wolverine, who’s one of the baddest mofos in the Marvel universe, is a large preference for the actor.

Heck, I can even see him playing Ghost Rider/Johnny Blaze (who is my favourite Marvel superhero), even though a part of me still wishes that Nic Cage would reprise the role.

Fans will have to wait and see if Marvel Studios can find the perfect role for Reeves in the ever-expanding superhero universe. Until then, we can continue to enjoy Reeves’ incredible performances in his current and upcoming projects.
