A chief at a police station in Selangor was arrested by Department of Integrity and Compliance Standards (JIPS) Bukit Aman yesterday after he was found positive of methamphetamine.

A raid was carried out by the operations and compliance team, who also investigated seven other officers at the same station, reported Harian Metro.

Bukit Aman JIPS director Datuk Zamri Yahya said they went for a urine screening and testing after receiving complaints and information.

“Information says several officers and policemen attended a drug party at a private premise in Kuala Lumpur.

“Following that, a surprise inspection was carried out on the Head of Station and the suspected members,” he said when contacted by Harian Metro.

Zamri said the urine screening test found that the head, with a rank of Inspector, tested positive for drugs while the other seven officers were negative.

“Further investigation and action will be taken accordingly,” he said. It is understood that the Inspector will be charged in court sometime soon.
