Halt! No LGBT Related-Content Shall Enter Netflix, Says BN Lawmaker

This just in… Grotesque rape scenes and over-sexualisation of women are A-okay, but harmless LGBT scenes are a hell no!

According to Kuala Kangsar MP, Datin Mastura Mohd Yazid, the portrayals of characters who are a part of the LGBT community are deemed “detrimental” to audiences. She expressed her concern for the well-being of Malaysians by saying that these images are causing worry amongst citizens. What exactly is worrisome about this content is beyond me…

 

This is probably her trying to keep out all that ‘disturbing’ LGBT content…

The lawmaker stated in Dewan Rakyat that,

“This is about films on Netflix. Are there different mechanisms between those ordinarily used to censor films and those on Netflix? Because I am seeing widespread sex scenes and LGBT elements which are causing worry among the people.”

Her message was delivered to Communications and Multimedia Minister, Gobind Singh Deo who promised to address the issue in a written reply.

For our sake, I hope that reply reads:

“Mind your own business, woman!”
