French Footballer Bites Opponent’s Penis, Gets 5 Year Ban
When it comes to sports, especially football, injuries are bound to happen every now and then. Additionally, heated arguments and fights amongst players are also an unfortunate part of the sport. Out of all the major injuries and altercations that’s happened over the years, this one undoubtedly takes the cake in both divisions.
After a match between amateur French teams SC Terville and AS Soetrich, things got out of hand when a locker room brawl ensued between two members of the opposing teams that carried all the way to the stadium’s car park. Another SC Terville player tried to break up the fight between the two players which probably wasn’t one of his best life decisions as he was bitten by the Soetrich player.. on his penis. Sssssssss…. that’s gotta hurt!
The poor victim who tried playing moderator evidently suffered a devastating injury as he had to get 12 stitches after being sent to the hospital and was granted four days off work but received a suspension until June for his apparent “acts of brutality” according to the Moselle district disciplinary committee. Talk about bad luck, dude was trying to break up the fight.
The Soetrich player who committed this bizarre act on the other hand understandably received a heavier punishment of a 5-year ban from participating in any matches in addition to receiving a €200 fine and also a two-point deduction for SC Terville who hosted the match.
According to online football publication FourFourTwo, Emmanuel Saling, director of the Moselle district who issued the ban had this to say regarding their decision:
“It’s quite rare to have sanctions of several years. There are fewer than 10 per year.” He explained that, “The case was a bit saucy, but … there must have been some nasty tension, so the smiles on the disciplinary committee quickly faded.”
In any case, we wish the Terville player who suffered this extremely literal low blow a speedy recovery and for less incidents like this to besmirch the wonderful game of football in the future.
