NGO-Led Service Offers Free Bus Rides For Voters To Travel Back To Their Hometowns For GE15
A programme run by NGOs will offer free bus trips to Klang Valley voters who are required to journey to their hometowns for the GE15.
On November 18, the buses will leave Dewan Masyarakat BK2 in Puchong and travel to variety of destinations across Peninsular Malaysia.
On following day (election day), the buses will also make a second trip back to Puchong in the evening. All qualified voters are welcome to participate in the service, which is collaboratively conducted by the KLSCAH Civil Rights Committee, Sayangi Kinrara, and SKLHA Youth.
Voters can register for this service on this Google Form. The cutoff date for registration is November 16.
Based on availability, bus seats will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
Successful applicants will receive a WhatsApp notification from the group, and on the day of departure, they must present the message as identification.
The organisation emphasised that their primary goal is to make voting easier for the people and that they won’t meddle with their voting preferences.
“We advise all passengers to be on time at the departure site because there may be unanticipated events, such as traffic delays, throughout the trip. Furthermore, we won’t accept any latecomers,” the statement from the organisers noted.
By launching this service, they intend to motivate more individuals to return to their hometowns to cast their ballots.
Voters can reach Yu (+6011-6921 3885), Sithesh (+6011-3179 9205), Melvin (+6012-381 6296), and Sithesh (+6011-3179 9205) for any inquiries.
On November 1, in addition to 8 extra ETS for GE15, KTMB also announced that it will provide an unique Keluarga Malaysia service between November 18 and 20. 2,520 ETS tickets and 716 KL Sentral-Tumpat-KL Sentral tickets will be available.
Tickets are available for purchase on the KTMB app, public counters or here.
Happy voting!
