Firemen Used Crane To Rescue Penang Man Stuck Atop 12-Metre-High Tree

According to NST, a 53-year-old man had to be taken down with the help of a crane after his leg got stuck on top of a tree in Kampung Tun Sardon, Bukit Mertajam yesterday.

The unnamed man was cutting down some leaves from the Machang tree and while doing so, his legs got stuck between branches.

Penanti Fire and Rescue Department operations officer Mohd Azam Mohd Noor said they were alerted of the incident at about 11:43am before they rushed to the scene.

“When we arrived at the scene, we found the man stuck at a height of 12 metres. He, however, sustained a broken left hand and leg,” Azam said.

Firefighters managed to bring him down safely at around 2:30 pm. He has then been treated at Seberang Jaya Hospital for his injuries.
