Family Unknowingly Brings Home A Suitcase Containing Human Remains From An Auction Bid
Discovering hidden treasure when rummaging through your local vintage shop and then acquiring it for cheap is a blessing.
In Auckland, New Zealand, a family took home a vintage suitcase that they acquired during an auction of a storage unit sale. Once they brought it home though, they discovered human remains in their new pre-loved goods.
Police officer Tofilau Faamanuia Vaaelua stated that a family of a residence in South Auckland phoned 911 last Thursday after the horrifying discovery.
The New Zealand police confirmed that the family was not deemed suspects and they were believed to be innocent.
The human remains discovered in the suitcase are thought to belong to more than one victim.
“The priority for police is to confirm the identification of the deceased so that we can establish the full circumstances behind the discovery,” said Vaaelua.
The police said forensic investigators and medical examiners were working to verify how many people had died during the post-mortem examination.
A business owner in Papatoetoe, South Auckland, has confirmed to the news outlet Stuff that they are helping the police with their inquiry into this case.
