This Japanese Billionaire Is Bringing Steve Aoki & TOP from BIGBANG On A Trip To The Moon
I’ll clear the air straight up for you crypto-oriented folk to say NO, not that kind of “to the moon”. I’m talking about the actual moon orbiting our planet.
Japanese billionaire and fashion tycoon Yusaka Maezawa recently announced that he will be bringing along a star-studded group on a trip to the moon including the likes of K-Pop royalty TOP from BIGBANG as well as legendary DJ, Steve Aoki.
Maezawa (pictured above), stated that the aforementioned artistes were among eight crew members who’ll be hitching a ride on one of Elon Musk’s SpaceX rockets.
He bought out every seat on the rocket for this lunar voyage and announced his crew-mate picks on Twitter and on the official website for what he calls the #dearMoon Project.
Maezawa and his crew-mates would become the first passengers to embark on the SpaceX flyby of the moon, ushering a new age of space travel (for the grotesquely wealthy at least) along with Jeff Bezo’s Blue Origin project.
Reports indicate that Maezawa and Musk share a common affinity for the use of Twitter. It was through the social media platform where he recruited his fellow crew members from across the globe noting that about 1 million people had applied for a slot.
In a video the Japanese billionaire posted onto YouTube, he stated:
“I hope each and every one will recognise the responsibility that comes with leaving the Earth, travelling to the moon and back,” Maezawa said in the video.
“They will gain a lot from this experience, and I hope they will use that to contribute to the planet, to humanity.”
