Indie music lovers UNITE! Alex Blake Charlie Sessions is a new female-fronted indie music festival that will take place for the first time in Singapore at an unusual venue place – Pasir Panjang Power Station.

Singapore’s second power station, built between 1952 and 1953, the iconic red-brick Pasir Panjang Power Station is about a 10-minute walk from the Labrador Park MRT Station. Seeing a resurgence of interest, mainly spurred by the Singaporean Urban Redevelopment Authority, the venue has hosted a fair share of art markets and events in recent times.

Hosted by 24OWLS – a fresh business collective behind the last five editions of Laneway Festival Singapore – the festival will feature Cate Le Bon, Charly Bliss, Kero Kero Bonito, Goat Girl, Ladies of LCD Soundsystem, Soak, Vandetta, and Ginette Chittick, this December.

Expect intimacy and a sense of wide-eyed discovery as you immerse yourself in pop rock, R&B, indie folk and electronica. More names are expected to be announced in the coming weeks, so look out for that!

For now, here’s what you can expect from the festival’s current line-up…

Be intrigued by Cate Le Bon, the acclaimed Welsh avant-pop musician who is leaving trails with her weirdly beautiful fifth album Reward. And then be blown away by the infectious power-pop doozies of Brooklyn band, Charly Bliss with frontwoman Eva Hendricks, as well as the fearless post-punkers Goat Girl from London.

Dance along with fellow Londoners – Kero Kero Bonito, as indie-pop darling Sarah Midori Perry half-raps, half-sings her way to your heart. The fierce duo of Nancy Whang and Rayna Russom will also be tearing the house down with a joint-DJ showcase as Ladies of LCD Soundsystem.

Next on the list – Northern Irish singer-songwriter SOAK, aka Bridie Monds-Watson, whose smart and dreamy indie pop will reel you in and never let you go. Not forgetting SG’s very own Ginette Chittick that will regale you with her sonic adventures into indie rock and lastly, Vandetta, the alluring electro-soul-R&B songstress who moves between genres fluidly.

The future is female and this eclectic line-up sounds like a dream come true! To get you more excited, take a look at how cool the venue looks like:
