Be In Tune For Record Store Day With Fred Perry
In the spirit of music discovery and originality, Fred Perry commemorates Record Store Day (RSD) with month-long activities this April. For you non-record heads out there, RSD is an annual event inaugurated in 2007 and held on one Saturday every April to celebrate the culture of the independently owned record store.
The day brings together fans, artists, and thousands of independent record stores across the world. A number of records are pressed specifically for Record Store Day, with a unique list of releases for each country, and are only distributed to shops participating in the event.
Fred Perry will be celebrating by releasing their new RSD tote bags, a ‘Scratch & Win’ Shopping Contest with Grand Prize that includes an Audio Technica turntable, a limited edition Fred Perry X-mini Speaker and more. To cap it all off, live stream gigs on www.sgcommunityradio.com on 18 and 19 April featuring regional line-up of Malaysian and Singaporean DJs!
The four RSD themed tote bags are designed by international illustrators including Malaysian graphic designer, Valen Lim.
Each tote bag is given complimentary with every purchase, while stocks last at selected record shops and Fred Perry Authentic Shops.
As for the ‘Scratch & Win’ contest, all you have to do is spend more than RM100 in a single receipt and you’ll get a scratch card to enter. Better hurry as the contest ends at 30 April ’18.
These tote bags and Scratch & Win cards are available at these five record stores: Edy J Records, Hard Graft Records, Sonic Rage, Tandang Store and Teenage Head Records. These tote bags are also available at Fred Perry Authentic Shops in Suria KLCC, Pavilion KL, 1Utama and Gurney Paragon Mall.
What’s a RSD without any music right ? Fred Perry will be hosting an online stream of music takeover on 18 amd 19 April at www.sgcommunityradio.com. Expect different genres of music in one – indie, house, disco, syth-pop and many more. Check out the amazing line-up down below:
A partnership with champions of music and creative culture – Singapore Community Radio, these online gigs are a nod to the brand’s unique place at the heart of subcultures and music for decades.
