Netflix has just announced the fourth season of Regency-era series Bridgerton, with Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) as the new season’s romantic lead.
The second son (and second eldest Bridgerton sibling) is loved for his charming and bubbly personality, and Season 4 makes him the focal point of the marriage mart as he searches for a mysterious woman called the Lady in Silver.

“Benedict has always been a little lost — or free depending on the way you want to look at it. But now he’s trying to find something a bit more solid in himself,” Thompson tells Tudum.
Benedict is stepping into the centre of the ballroom
In Season 4, the man who doesn’t usually take interest in settling down is suddenly caught off-guard by the Lady in Silver, who captures his attention at Violet Bridgerton’s (Ruth Gemmell) masquerade ball.
According to showrunner Jess Brownell, following Benedict’s growth in the past three seasons makes for an exciting transition to his love story. He needed to fully explore himself before tying the knot with somebody.
“He is someone who has big appetites, and we wanted to see him living a big life before he goes into settle-down mode,” she told Tudum. “I’m excited for where we’re going with him in Season 4. There are a lot of things I want to say about it, but I should probably wait…”
